Every time you decide to victimize somebody for doing something you don’t agree with, whether it be picketing abortion clinics, arguing against homosexual marriage or preaching against the use of condoms, I want you to take a minute and in your mind reverse the positions.
Imagine people picketing your church showing horrific images of barbarities carried out in the name of religion, people throwing fake blood at you and calling you a murderer for going in to pray. Imagine people across your nation were lobbying for laws to try and prevent easy access to churches, and even laws to try and shut down your church.
Now, try and imagine for a minute that the majority of human being are homosexual, and you are part of a small minority, imagine being bullied throughout school for just being who you are, imagine being told you cannot marry the person you love because it’s unnatural, imagine being called vile, and perverse just for being you.
If you can imagine all this, I would hope that you would change your mind, that you would let others live their lives without trying to force your beliefs on them. If you can imagine this and still don’t get it then the problem is with you, not the people you hate. If you don’t want to be considered a bigot try this; if something doesn’t effect you personally, if it doesn’t harm you or your loved ones…keep your fucking mouth shut!
