What Religions Have in Common…
You may or may not have noticed that there is one core concept behind pretty much every major religion (not all), an inherent characteristic that is both foul and ingenious. It helps drive faith, and keep believers shackled in place. So what is this characteristic?
We are not worthy, we are sinners and we are evil.
This one idea that degrades us all drives religious belief, if you are told over and over throughout your life that you are a pitiable being, you will eventually come to believe it. When you are beaten down enough, drowning in your self-loathing what can possibly save you? Why it’s religion of course.
This concept that we are all innately sinful is horrific. A young innocent child has not committed any sin, yet every day good, innocent children are browbeaten with this concept that they are not worthy, they are damned unless they wholeheartedly give in to illogical nonsense. Many theists claim that they do not take part in indoctrination of their children, however the very tales from scriptures are designed to indoctrinate, to bully, to terrify you into believing. This is one thing so many religions have in common, and it is another reason why I despise it.
